Clinton is In...I'm Just Not That "In" To Her

Cross posted from SoonerThought.

So, she’s finally come clean and admitted she is running for the big job.

Sorry, I’m not sold on her. To me, she represents the tired, sellout and souless “third way” politics. I liked her husband for many of his stands and his intelligence–a trait George Bush flatly does not possess. However, there is strong evidence of President Clinton’s tacking to the Right on crucial Liberal issues. Welfare “reform” anyone?

Okay, Hillary is not Bill. However, even as a capable senator, she has pulled some awfully transparent pandering stunts–including support of a ridiculous flag burning amendment. She voted for the ruinous war in Iraq. Though she and Bill deserve credit for attempting universal health care, the fact is they botched it.

Besides substantive issues, her grating speaking style is that of a perturbed school marm…or the smartest girl in school running for class treasurer. Ugh.

Is Hillary the worst candidate the Democrats can select for President? No. That honor goes to the bellicose Al Sharpton. But she could very possibly be a candidate who brings the momentum of the 2006 Midterms to a dead stop, and puts a crazed Republican like John McCain (driver of what we like to call the Bent Talk Express) in the White House.

I say: watch Obama, don’t count Kerry out, and keep an ear open for Edwards and the spoiler General Clark.

But don’t bet the farm on Hillary.
